To get advice for things to do, places to go, and food to eat... and for Damix to brag about his most recent globetrotting adventures.

there's a part of me that respects that irreverence, except they're not doing it to be cheeky

If there was ever going to be a large FTS meetup, the Vegas draft is the time.

Anybody ever been to Malta? I can get flights and six nights hotel for under $800. Doing Italy in Spring 2020 but already looking ahead of that.

Went to Malta about six years ago, so I don't have specific recommendations, but it was a lovely place, beautiful nature, and very friendly people.

Everyone speaks English as well. It does get really hot in the summer though so watch out for that. Culturally it's a bit like Italian, with a bit of middle eastern and north African mixed in (historically it's basically been overrun a bunch of times). I've seen a couple people from America go recently. I guess it's getting popular with Americans...? |

Need recs for LA.
Might do Red Rocks in September. That or something in the PNW. Then Hawaii or France next year. |

Of the big touristy things:
Don't go to the Walk of Fame or Rodeo Drive. Do go to Griffith Park, The Getty, the Broad, and LACMA. For food and beer, there are honestly countless places in Los Angeles. I'd say definitely get Mexican food, K-BBQ, and Sushi - I can recommend places, but just look it up since LA is huge and you'll want to pick somewhere generally close to other stuff you want to do that day/night. If you're downtown, I really liked the beer at Mumford. Angel City has a phenomenal space, but average beer. Definitely hit the Comedy Store, honestly a mind blowing line up every time I have been. Ironically it can be better during off nights since a lot of the headliners are touring on the weekend. The comedy scene may be my favorite thing about LA. Oh - definitely go to Grand Central Market & Smorgasborg if you want to be a glutton. Last edited by Rob S; 06-25-2019 at 08:08 PM. |

Rob gave some good recommendations for LA, if you decide to come to Santa Monica or another beach city, I can help you out with that.

Griffith Observatory was my favorite "touristy" thing in LA; we went near sunset and it was a nightmare getting there and leaving, but worth it in the end.
Wish I had time to also hike the trails around the Hollywood sign, as there seem to be a shitload of great views. |

Yea where you stay in LA will likely make a difference as it’s a big place. Happy to help with specific tips if you’re after them (tips in here have been good though). I know central/east-ish slightly better as I’m from out that way, but also lived out west for a couple years so know that area a bit as well, but kick is probably the man for beach towns.
