They was in-season engine development but apparently Mercedes doesn't want to approve it for the unanimous vote.

I'm not a tennis fan but I do watch golf, can someone explain why one title in tennis is a Grand Slam title, but in golf it's when you win all 4 major championships in the same year?

Grand Slam in tennis is just the title they give their majors. A career grand slam would have the same meaning for both sports.
