Default 2020 Forum Offseason FA Bidding Thread

Use this thread during each wave of free agency in order to bid on players.

Please use the following format for your bids:

Team (if GM of multiple teams, please specify)
Position Player Name - #years, #total value (#average value)

Ex. QB Tom Brady - 2 years, $50m ($25m per)

Free Agency - Overview
- Free agency is separated into three different waves, two pre-draft and one post-draft.
- It will be conducted through a live bidding system, spending one day on each wave.
- Teams must make their initial bid on a player at least three hours before the day’s deadline.
- At the end of the day, some players with heavy bidding leading up to the deadline may remain in the FA pool OR be subject to a "blind" final bid via PM at the commissioner's discretion.
- Tiebreakers for close bids will be made in this order of importance: (1) contract length (same value only), (2) statement of interest in a team (provide link), (3) winning team, (4) current team.
- Bids should only include total length and total value. For the sake of simplicity, we do not deal with guarantees, incentives, options, etc.

Free Agency - Waves
- First Wave Rules:
-- Contract offers must be at least three-years in length with a minimum AAV of 50% of the Franchise Tag value. (See below list for specifics.)
-- QBs, Kickers, and Punters age 35 or older may be offered deals two-years in length during this wave. Please indicate the player's age in your initial offer if this applies.
-- All offers for Franchise/Transition Tagged players and RFAs should be made during this period, and tendering teams should decide whether they want to match the offer or allow the player to sign elsewhere.
- Second Wave Rules:
-- Contract offers must be at least two-years in length with a minimum AAV of 33% of the Franchise Tag value. (See below list for specifics.)
-- All players age 32 or older may be offered one-year deals. Please indicate the player's age in your initial offer if this applies.
- Third Wave Rules:
-- Third Wave will take place after the draft.
-- All contract offers are for one-year only with no minimum offer. Minimum offers will not count toward the salary cap.
-- Teams may sign a maximum of three undrafted free agents, with a one-hour cooldown period between signings.
- Minimum offer amounts are as follows:
-- First wave: QB $13.5m, RB $6m, WR $9m, TE $5.5m, OL $8m, DE $10m, DT $7.5m, LB $8m, CB $8m, S $6.5m, ST $2.5m
-- Second wave: See here.

Available Free Agents:
(List will be updated as players are signed or released)

Spoiler!

First Wave of Free Agency Bidding will begin at 9:00am eastern!

Reminders:

- Contract offers must be at least three-years in length with a minimum AAV of 50% of the Franchise Tag value. (See below list for specifics.)
-- QBs, Kickers, and Punters age 35 or older may be offered deals two-years in length during this wave. Please indicate the player's age in your initial offer if this applies.

- First Wave Minimum AAV Offers:
-- QB $13.5m
-- RB $6m
-- WR $9m
-- TE $5.5m
-- OL $8m
-- DE $10m
-- DT $7.5m
-- LB $8m
-- CB $8m
-- S $6.5m
-- ST $2.5m

- Bids should only be for total length and total value.

- Minimum bid increase is $0.5m AAV

- Please make a new post each time you bid, including when increasing a previous bid for a player. Do not edit posts.

- If you are the GM for multiple teams, please clearly state which team is making which bid.

- You may withdraw a bid at any time up until the deadline by stating so in a new post.

- You may make "OR" offers. For example, if there are two players at a position you are interested in but only want to sign one, you may say "Player A - years, $$ OR Player B - years, $$". However, being the second player in such an arrangement will cause you to lose out on tiebreakers to a team with Player B as their #1 choice.

- All offer to Franchise/Transition tagged players and RFAs must be made during this wave. Their original team will be given a chance to match. If they do not, you will get the player. Transition tagged players have no draft pick compensation. Franchise tagged players cost two 1st round picks. RFAs cost whatever their tender calls for (1st round, 2nd round, or original round). If the player was undrafted, the original round tender costs nothing.

- Bidding will be open from 9:00am to 10:00pm eastern.
-- You must make your initial bid on a player at least three hours before the day’s deadline.
-- At the end of the day, some players with heavy bidding leading up to the deadline may remain in the FA pool OR be subject to a "blind" final bid via PM at the commissioner's discretion.
-- Tiebreakers for close bids will be made in this order of importance: (1) contract length (same value only), (2) statement of interest in a team (provide link), (3) winning team, (4) current team.
-- Players near retirement age may not agree to smaller offers and may choose to retire instead.

- For those of you in other timezones or with odd schedules who may not be around at the deadline, you may PM me a "max" bid for up to three players. I will increase your bids ~30 mins before the deadline up to that max bid.

- If you make an offer to a player who did not receive any other offers leading up to the deadline to make initial offers (7:00pm eastern), that player may choose to remain in the free agency pool until the 2nd Wave. The offer will carry over unless withdrawn.

- Signings will be announced tomorrow. The Second Wave is then scheduled for Friday.
