ruby always had dry skin and would develop smelly dander a day or two after a bath. but in the past few months, i gave her boiled chicken thighs and veggies (unseasoned) and it improved her skin/coat tremendously.

i always thought cooking for your pets was high-falutin, but it doesn't take much time or effort. she also loved the "broth" that was left over and she stayed well-hydrated because she would definitely drink that more than regular water.

My dog is on a diet, I think he's on Purina OM or something. The Husky needed it for her diabetes because of the high fiber, and the toddler just keeps giving him her food so it just worked out.

ruby had kibble most of her life, but i started giving her pate mixed with kibble and she loved it. imagine your whole life eating protein crackers and then eating meatloaf. must be so amazing.

I make food for my dog. Judge me all you want. Chicken thighs/ground beef/turkey/fish, rice, and veggies. Probably costs me like $10 a week, and I spend like 30 minutes on the weekend to get it ready for the entire week.

Nah I pick something for the week. Like I said all and all it takes about half an hour to have everything done for the week. But it’s basic meat, rice/sweet potatoes/something, and veggies. It’s cheaper than buying dog food, easy, and you know what you’re feeding your dog.

I have a Husky too! Underweight though.

Nyx was urinating everywhere constantly, we took her to the vet and they did a glucose curve and determined she had diabetes.

We had to give her insulin 2x a day, and her food had to be high fiber.
