Surprised so many young people in here are getting vaccinated. In Washington it's people 65 and over and at the rate they're going it'll take till summer to get them completed.

I was pretty indifferent towards getting it but I basically had to for work. Would have waited, anyways.

My wife works in a semi health care related field. She is often around active cancer patients so she got it that way. My blood pressure is fine but I've had to take a pill to keep it in check for 10 plus years now so might as well actually use it to my advantage for once.

Yeah, my mom had to drive about an hour to get hers as well. Seems odd, but I guess maybe it's a logistical/storage issue because it has to be stored at such cool temperatures that not everywhere can handle it.

I honestly think it's a red/blue issue. She had the drive all the way to bumblefuck south Jersey which is very conservative. I've seen the same thing here in Maryland. Availability is more common in way out west which is basically WV or on the eastern shore.

I have no clue when or how I am going to get it. I saw the tiers for California at a couple points but I haven't done anything to get on a list or anything. California has been a mess in terms of shifting rules and priorities all the time. I do some agriculture and some government construction contracting so I think I'm supposed to come up soon but shit is messy.

Don't think that's anything extraordinary. NJ with slightly higher population reached 1.5 million total doses today with 435K of those being second does.

Gotta travel. My dad was lucky enough to get it local but like my mom went all the way to Cape May.

My county north of Seattle is pretty tapped out on vaccine. Due for my second shot next wednesday. That aint happening.

Both my parents got eligible in my county finally and got appointments. I'm so damn happy. I believe I also qualify so I could be good to go. My roommate who is a teacher qualifies too and she is so relieved.

The numbers, especially where I live, have massively declined. If we can just keep people buying into taking precautions a bit longer and getting vaccinated this might be just the final push to getting back to normal.

I'll give it to Memorial Day but if numbers continue to decline like they are we should basically be 100% open. We're not going to completely eradicate this and that was never the original intention.

I am fairly optimistic that summer will not completely blow in the US. I'll definitely be vaccinated by then and would expect most things to be fully open or at least at fairly high capacity. We'll still need to wear masks, but I do not care at all about that. Travel will take longer, unfortunately, but that's fair enough.

The big thing is that it seems the vaccine reduces transmission significantly which is absolutely massive.

I am fine wearing a mask wherever I go if I am vaccinated; hell, I might keep wearing a mask when I travel just to protect myself.
