We got around 8 inches here, my work closed down Saturday, then it rained and now we're back to no snow on the roads. I didn't even get to miss a day of work for it.

Lost power for 7 hours and it dropped into the 50s in the apt and somehow one of the lucky people in the state. What a shit show.

Without power for 15 hrs and counting. Forecast says 0 degrees overnight. Have a dying dog with me sleeping in the bathroom. Girlfriend is stuck out of town and we're breaking up. Our lease ends Sunday and I need to find a new place.

The Topo Chico that I keep in the garage flash froze when I opened it this evening and I had to wait 30 minutes or so for it to thaw enough to drink. So to the folks losing power and stuff, just know you aren't the only ones suffering.

I just picked up 13 cases of topo chico for the family. I don't like bubble water but everyone else around me loves that shit.

My tastes have kind of changed to the point where sodas taste too sugary, so the flavored bubble waters hit the spot. I don't know if Topo Chico is really better than the others that cost a lot less so we usually don't get it, but my sister in law got me a case as a thank you for letting her borrow my truck.

I am thankful for living in a large building and on the 5th floor. Don't have to worry about being snowed in or cleaning up snow. Chicago has supposedly received over 3 ft of snow in the last month, our balcony has over a foot of snow on it.

Welp. No water. Time to put van skills to work until I can get a plumber in. Fucking corroded meter casing cracked and it's impossible to google a diy because of garbage results regarding the water main. Even a -main returns water main results.

During my walk in -2 air temp (-10 windchill) yesterday I was laughing about the chaos in Texas until I thought about this point. Just even insulation around pipes and shit or having hot water heaters indoors. I do feel bad for all y'all without power and no real means to keep warm (because you wouldn't normally need it).
