Basically, we desperately need Washington to suck and start thinking about trading Beal. The rebuild package of Minnesota's 1st and a couple more 1sts + Wiggins is the only hope that exists atm.

I think the Raptors as a whole will probably turn it around this year, the Pascal Siakam 18 shots a game experiment has turned into a pretty clear failure though.

I get that you have to take a stab at it, but trying to take guys who excel in niche roles and forcing them into bigger ones feels like it fails way more often than not.

I think Buckets is the exception? We get one or two here and there.

Doesn't seem to happen too often where someone turns into a legit go to guy, more on a smaller scale.

Lowry didn't take more than 10 shots a game until his 8th season, Brogdon looks good in an increased ballhandling role in Indy, etc.

It also takes someone who has the mentality to do it. Kawhi and Buckets both did. Siakam absolutely cratered under pressure in the playoffs last year and hasn't found himself since.

The bubble really effected him and he hasn't recovered since. He is trying to do too much and it's not working. He is too good a player who has shown too much improvement over the years to not recover from this, the guy is only 26 years old. I do kind of agree in that I'm not sure he has the mentality for it but my hope is this is just a wall he's hit and he will work past it. He also needs a reliable big to play with.

He's trying to do too much because they need him to do a lot tho. They don't have enough juice offensively for him to settle back into the guy who scores 17 a night on hustle & energy buckets.

What Tacks said. Which goes back to the point above. The guy excelled off not being the primary focus of the offense and consequently the defense. You need an entirely different skill set and mentality to succeed at that.

I look forward to Scotty being wrong again but tbh I'm not sure he's ever been right so at this point no need to even gloat about it.

The Raptors literally get booed playing at home because their home games in in Florida. Its a huge disadvantage. They lost two very talented vets and did not have the time they would normally have in the offseason to prepare. Keep claiming they're dead after 5 games you fucks. You'll all see!!!!!
