STARTING/CLOSING 5

PG: Chris Paul
SG: Jaylen Brown
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: PJ Tucker
C: Joel Embiid

BENCH

G: Fred Van Vleet
G: Lou Williams
F: OG Anunoby
F/C: Deandre Ayton
C: Marc Gasol

  • Classic roster construction built around an elite defensive anchor, elite wing scorer, & an elite distributor with 3&D guys filling in the gaps

  • Best group of 2-way wings (KD, PJ, Jaylen, OG) in this draft who allow for tons of lineup versatility.

  • Savvy backcourt that's dynamic as shooters & playmakers but aren't so ball-dominant that they marginalize other scorers.

Starting Five:
Russell Westbrook, PG — HOU
Stephen Curry, PG — GSW
Danny Green, SF — LAL
Draymond Green, PF — GSW
Karl Anthony Towns, C — MIN

Bench:
George Hill, PG — MIL
Josh Richardson, SG — PHI
Otto Porter, Jr., SF — CHI
Jonathan Isaac, PF — ORL
Al Horford, C — PHI

Three points:
1. Threes. Two elite 3P shooters in Steph (.437) and KAT (.412) with great support shooters all around them in Green (.378), Porter (.406), and Hill (.480) and Dray/Russ to hit them.

2. Five Out. Russ with space on the floor with elite shooters is a problem for everyone else. He'll have all the space in the world to attack the basket in a way that nobody else can or does.

3. Adaptation. Opponent weak vs PnR? Steph/KAT. Weak paint protection? KAT/Russ. Offball D? Steph/Green. Can switch anything on D. Can go small w/ Dray @ C or huge w/ KAT/Horford.

C: Jusuf Nurkic

Closing 5:
G: James Harden
G: Kyle Lowry
Guy Marcus Smart
F: Khris Middleton

Bench:
G Kyle Lowry
G Marcus Smart
F Will Barton
F Duncan Robinson
C Domantas Sabonis

-Starting lineup consists of the best scorer in the league surrounded by an elite second option, an elite third option, and two bigs that can rebound/contribute all of which can play D
-The bench has the two most annoying backcourt defenders on Earth, the best three pure shooter in the league, and two damn good starters that have been sixth man of the year level before
-The closing lineup is fast/flexible and can pressure anybody here on both ends

STARTING/CLOSING 5
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Jrue Holiday
SF: Kawhi Leonard
PF: Ben Simmons
C: Kristaps Porzingis

BENCH

PG: Dejounte Murray
SG: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
SF: Danilo Gallinari
PF: Davis Bertans
C: Steven Adams

  • Simmons as the point forward he's meant to be. Everyone on the roster except him and Adams can make an open 3. Kawhi and Kyrie are both top end bucket getters while being able to hit catch and shoot threes at a high %.

  • 4 all defense level defenders in Jrue/Kawhi/Simmons/Dejounte and SGA/Adams are strong defenders as well. Kyrie never needs to guard the best scoring guard on the other team. Porzingis is a great rim protector and can be replaced with Adams if he's getting lost in the PNR.

  • SGA as an efficient 20 PPG scorer off the bench. Bertans and Gallinari as elite level 3 point shooters who can chuck from anywhere with Simmons finding them on the break, or they can draw defenders and let Kyrie and Kawhi attack.

PG Lonzo Ball - Ja Morant
SG Jimmy Butler - CJ McCollum
SF Jayson Tatum - Jimmy Butler - Mikal Bridges - Royce O'Neal
PF Anthony Davis - Jayson Tatum - Mikal Bridges - Royce O'Neal
C Rudy Gobert - Anthony Davis - Jarren Jackson Jr.

Closing(-2)
Lonzo Ball
CJ McCollum
Jimmy Butler
Jayson Tatum
Anthony Davis

Closing(-3)
Ja Morant
CJ McCollum
Jayson Tatum
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Anthony Davis

Closing(D)
Lonzo Ball
Jimmy Butler
Jayson Tatum
Anthony Davis
Rudy Gobert

Near All-NBA level defense at four positions and Tatum may not be far behind if this recent leap is sustainable. Davis and Gobert will often stagger playing time to keep an elite rim protector on the floor.

Potential white hot volume scorer CJ McCollum off the bench along with the explosive Ja Morant in the back court lead a offensive grouping off the bench that can spread the floor and run the court, to go along with stifling perimeter defense.

To close the game we will be relying on our stars Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, and Jayson Tatum. Tatum having all the traits needed to become a elite finisher in this league. Ja and Mikal can be subbed in for foul situations

Starting 5
Damian Lillard
Devin Booker
Pascal Siakam
Kevin Love
Hassan Whiteside

Closing 5
Damian Lillard
Patrick Beverly
Marcus Morris
Pascal Siakam
Hassan Whiteside

Bench
Mike Conley
Bojan Bogdanović
Brook Lopez

Notes:
- the offense runs through the splash bro’s lite with Dame/Book with Siakam as our Draymond and supporting 3 point shooters like Love, Morris, Lopez, and Bojan.

- elite perimeter defenders off the bench in Morris and Beverly

- vote for me or I’ll cough on you

STARTING 5

SF Giannis Antetokounmpo
PF Serge Ibaka
C Bam Adebayo

CLOSING 5
PG Kemba Walker
SG Victor Oladipo
SF Robert Covington
PF Giannis Antetokounmpo
C Bam Adebayo

BENCH
PG Jamal Murray
SG Malcolm Brogdon
SF Robert Covington
PF Aaron Gordon
C LaMarcus Aldridge

  • System emphasized on ball movement, misdirection and strong defense. Targeted a collection of stars and role players who have good court vision, team first mentality, can score a variety of ways, and most importantly disrupt on defense up and down the roster. Special bond of unity in the starting line up based on shared African lineage.

  • Wanted a strong PG to lead the bench unit and not allow letdown. Also compiled a group of specialists who could take on specific assignments whether it be insta-offense, space creation, or defensive lockdown.

  • Heavy lean on playoff experienced stars, especially ones hungry for a title. Also targeted leaders from winning clubs, who are highly competitive, unselfish and clutch.

Starting Five

PG: Donovan Mitchell
SG: Bradley Beal
SF: Klay Thompson
PF: Lebron James
C: Nikola Vucevic

Bench

PG: Seth Curry
SG: Caris LeVert
SF: Tobias Harris
PF: Julius Randle
C: Andre Drummond

* Lebron starting with 3 wings who shoot over 35% from downtown and a center who shoots 33%. Need I say more? Mitchell can run the point to let Lebron pay off the ball. And hell, Beal averages over 6 assists per game

* Defensively, Lebron, Mitchell and Klay are lock down. Vuc and Beal can hold their own. Plus, Drummond off the bench can be a sub if going against a dominant low post scorer. (And the leading offensive rebounder with those shooters. WHEW)

* Bench offers versatility, with Curry who can play both guard spots (and 2nd in the league in 3 point %), LeVert who can play 1-3 and is excellent on ball while shooting 34% from beyond the arc. Versatile 36% 3 point shooter in Tobias Harris who can play either forward spot, and bigs who can compliment Vuc with Randle and Drummond

* It's Lebron and 3 point shooters. It's so s3xy

]STARTING/CLOSING 5

PG: Trae Young

SF: Brandon Ingram
PF: Zion Williamson
C: Myles Turner

BENCH

G: Bogdan Bogdanovic
G: Spencer Dinwiddie
F: Joe Ingles
F/C: Jarrett Allen

  • This team is built around being fun, fast, and scoring points. Defense is for nerds.

  • Closing lineup of Trae, Bogi, Dinwiddie, Jingles, Zion provides scoring, shooting, and defensive versatility.

STARTING/CLOSING 5

SF: Gordon Hayward
PF: John Collins
C: Nikola Jokic

BENCH
G: Eric Bledsoe
G: Zach LaVine
F: DeMar DeRozan
F: Andre Iguodala
C: Montrezl Harrell
  • Elite passing and offensive IQ all over the court/bench. With slashers and shooters, this team shouldn't have any difficulty creating shots.
  • Top quality bench scorers/offensive players in Harrell, LaVine, DeRozan. Dangerous for 48 minutes.
  • Doncic, Hayward and Jokic will invoke the power of #BlueLivesMatter to lock up opposition negroes.

5 different people received 1st place votes, 4 received multiple. commie had the most with 3.

And yes I Tom Perez'd this election to fraudulently push the candidate I wanted (me) to the top spot.

D has great paint defense, I have great perimeter offense, I take advantage and bomb that shit and draw his paint defenders out where they're uncomfortable. He has one capable defending guard. Either Kemba is stuck on Russ 1v1 (lol) or Dipo guards him which means Steph is going to run Kemba ragged and limit his only real perimeter offensive threat. He counters with RoCo because he should be a starter, but that lets me continue to hide someone on defense (like I can with Ibaka).

Giannis is his biggest threat and wont be stopped, but I have 5 people who can do a job on him. Horford's d was the reason Philly stomped Milwaukee in that first game earlier this year, Isaac and Porter are big and long, Draymond is probably the best defender in the league from the perspective of someone who can cover from the paint to the 3p line, and Danny Green is by far the best transition defender in basketball. Thats exactly the kind of defense that turned him into a ho-hum player in the playoffs last year. Giannis has to go crazy for his team to put up enough points to be competitive, as my team is going to score on everyone.

I think my team is more versatile in being able to exploit a weakness and I have far more options to take over a game. I also think im just a lot deeper with a more complimentary bench. I have too much offensive motion with the off-ball runners and screeners and passers on my roster for him to keep up with.

D's team is solid but this is just a bad matchup for his team. Also worry that he doesn't enough shooting around Giannis to have the scoring juice to outgun commie's team over the course of a series.

Vote commie

His team is stacked enough to overcome the “special bond of unity in the starting line up based on shared African lineage”

Vote Commie

D's team is good and well thought out. I just think around Giannis you want a little bit more high level shooting and he has a lot of just pretty decent shooting.
