Wentz is the bizarro Dak in that folks go out of their way to overlook. His flaws and track record to focus on a relatively brief ceiling. Where as with Dak ....

I'd say 10-6. Some tough stretches.

Weeks 1-3 with 2 tough games on the road: 1-2

Weeks 4-7, 3 straight homes plus Skins: 4-0

Weeks 8-10: 2 tough games with PA teams and the bye: 1-1

Weeks 11-13: 3 games in 12 days, really tough stretch: 1-2

Weeks 14-17: Relatively easy stretch w/ Niners and Eagles at home (whatever that will mean by Dec): 3-1

Thats what I have. 10-6 Hopefully with better coaching and way better STs play we can squeeze out another win.

Hopefully a coaching staff that can adjust for injuries to key players will be worth a win or 2 alone.

I'm sort of still in the Garrett-era mindset where i look at a tough road game or game against quality competition and just assume a sub-.500 record for those games. Conversely, Garrett had a Belichek-ian record against subpar teams so I assume a near-perfect mark for those games.

This staff will obviously be different and less predictable, which makes this season even tougher to forecast.

Sadly come July, Jerruh will cave. Highest paid QB in the history of the NFL and we wonder why we cant have nice things. Like rings.

Jerruh/Stephen wait while Goff, Wentz, and Wilson get new deals that drive up the market. Now this is happening and it will set a new market that delusional Dak will think he deserves. Incompetence at its worst.

The most anticipated contract negotiation in NFL history is underway between the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.

The result will be a deal unlike any other, with potential new precedents that could change future talks.

We need to tell Dak to test the trade market.

Dak is signing the 1 year 31.4M deal tomorrow. We'll see if that leads to anything longterm. Highest paid Cowboy in history, Im sure he'll be worth every penny #TeamFortyBurger

cheap, 1 year deal. I can't complain considering.

We can continue to test the trade market too.

Average Dak won't sign for 5 though...

Patrick Mahomesí 10-year -- 10-year! -- contract extension that ties him to Kansas City through the 2031 season will be the richest contract in NFL history.

@AdamSchefter

Compensation update: Patrick Mahomesí 10-year extension is worth $450 million, sources tell ESPN.

The injury guarantee is $140 million, per source.

The contract does not contain language that ties its value to a percentage of the salary cap.

Richest deal in sportsí history.
Ohhh to have a Mahomes on your favorite team.

Deal is even better for the Chiefs. It essentially has huge roster bonuses in the final years which inflate the figures. I would bet another extension would happen after year 6 of the deal to reset the market again.

The contract if we imagine that scenario?
ZERO dead money after 2024. Majority of the money is in "Roster Bonuses" which guarantee the 3rd day of year league year.

Year Cap Hit
2020: $5,346,508
2021: $24,806,905
2022: $31,450,000
2023: $42,450,000
2024: $39,950,000
2025: $41,950,000
2026: $41,950,000
(After this the cap hits jump to between 45 and 59 mil - but keep in mind zero guaranteed money so this is just accounting and media fodder)

Depending on when the contract is torn up this is honestly a great deal. The average yearly cap hit based on this number will be between 30.1 and 32.5 million.

Dak and his agent will quote the media numbers while I imagine Jerry and co. will point to the structure. I'd be fine with Dak taking a deal like this one with of course some cuts given he's not even on the same planet talent wise as Mahomes. I think this increases the possibility of Dak and Dallas coming to terms barring the years actually being a complete impasse.
