I have to go to work Monday. I am not ready. Also, I'm not even sure if I have pants to wear.

On the plus side, I got my bed put together and the new mattress arrived. Big fan, so far. But I was sleeping on the cheapest mattress and metal frame from the local big furniture store for the last ~10 years.

Putting together furniture for me is the last step for Amazon. Assembly required needs to die.

It was a bit more work than I anticipated. It'll be a minute before I start on the bookshelf. I'll probably start drawing up plans for my coffee table that converts to a sofa desk soon, though.

after building a dozen or so PCs I don't have much trouble assembling anything, I prefer Chinese manuals though as the know how to get the instructions across with minimal text

As someone who has been assembling a ton of things the past six weeks since buying a house, I have to say instruction manuals have gotten much, much better.

Assembling stuff is trash. Beds are easy as long as you have a drill. Dressers can die in a fire.

I built my patio furniture, it was actually super easy. And a pile of 2x4s and a few pounds of deck screws costs a fraction of the cost of the fancy patio sectionals.

Same - my patio couch was a $40 build and I have a ton of screws and paint left over. The cushions on the other hand were 100$, but even considering that still far cheaper.

I’m not ready to enter that portion of my life where woodworking is a hobby quite yet.

Mine cost $100 in wood but thatís because my wife insisted I use the premium treated cedar instead of pine. I need a miter saw, I do not have a steady hand with the circle.

The mitre saw was a game changer when I was building the bed. A table saw would have made it a breeze, though. I have a kreg cut guide for my circular saw. I'm good with it now, but it was a struggle to get it set up right.

I need to have a tree removed from my backyard so I can build a little workshop/shed.

Did either of you by chance build a rocker? I have a pair old wicker chairs on my front porch that are falling apart and I really don't want to pay $500 to replace them.

Curves and angles are a bit beyond my skill level. These couches were my first projects.

Seeing a return on your wood working investment will take no less than 37 years.

I finally got this x-ray'd and it's not dislocated but so fractured that it looked dislocated. The top half is barely hanging on. Probably going to have to get surgery on it next week, which is just delightful.
