I have an Amazon card and it has proven to be quite rewarding. Not the best points system ($0.05 per dollar spent at Amazon, $0.03 per dollar spent on gas and groceries, $0.01 per dollar everywhere else) but at least the "cash" can be used on anything on Amazon.

What does this mean

Quote:
Credit mix lacks different types of credit
There is either no recent activity or insufficient information about your installment loans. Having a loan along with other types of credit demonstrates that you are able to manage a variety of credit types.
I don't have any loans

credit score dropped from 805 to 755

I think it's saying I need to borrow money from more people lol

This is basically it, unironically. Credit scores are dumb as hell, 755 is still good though.

For some things once you're over a certain score people think too much about them. Can only speak for my employer but if your score is 755 you're getting the same mortgage rate as someone with an 810 score anyway. Your mileage may vary, etc.

I’m sure there are exceptions but Kyle is right, every place I’ve been is 750+ and you’re getting the most competitive rate. They are more worried about other factors at that point

Take out a loan with a 700 credit score, watch it raise to 750 and then take out a better one to repay that one

Anyone ever have any issues with Amex trying to claw back rewards bonuses? I'm not going to have much need for this card anymore and my first annual fee just hit so I've had it for over a year.

Only on manufactured spend, if you hit the sign up bonus with normal spend its fine to close after a yr

Yeah I did it with normal spending. Thanks, that's what I figured but I tend to be paranoid about these things.
