Newcastle playing for the chance to go to Wembley for a cup final. Who'd have seen this coming during the dark days under Ashley. And just 11 goals conceded in 20 Premier League games. Amazing how far the club has come.

It’s not bad. 2 in form sides, 2 northern sides, old money vs. new money, attractive kit matchup, fans that will travel well (or already be in London). I am biased, but it could certainly be worse.

Sucks because McBride was my favorite player growing up, he's from my home town so every player wanted to be him. Doesn't tarnish his legacy though because I doubt anyone realized he worked there let alone was in charge.

Well it looks like they're taking Gregg's side in this given all of the firings and stepdowns that have occurred. This is the worst-case scenario.

The amount of money being spent by the Prem compared to all of the other big leagues is wild. It’s fairly concerning for parity going forward. Fucking Bournemouth can throw 30m plus at Roma for Zaniolo and they have no choice. Just a weird place right now.

Not who I would have gone for at that price point, but fair enough. Have to trust in the infrastructure because they have been fantastic thus far on big investments. Gordon has a lot of potential and I understand the strategy. Buying a 21 YO Englishman (especially one who is good and flashy carrying the ball) is the risk mgmt play. Even if his end product doesn't improve to the degree they are hoping, chances are very high that some mid table side will cough up 30-35 mil in 2-3 years and you'll get most of that fee back.

Definitely the target I was least-hoping to sign, but have to defer to the management and coaching teams that have done incredible work in the last 12 months.
