MLB needs to re-seed in the playoffs. The possible SFG/LAD match up not being in the NLCS is terrible.

I was just coming here to say how ridiculous it is that the Dodgers have to play in the wildcard game. MLB needs to do something like the NBA did a while ago if they are going to have the wildcard game, and make it so that the top 3 records regardless get the "bye" and wildcard goes to the 4th and 5th teams record-wise.

Kinda absurd that the Giants might have to pay the Dodgers in the NLDS as well - reseed after the wild card game, or let Giants pick.

Also in the case of a 4 way tie for AL wildcard, they seeded them by head to head and then let each team pick -

1. Boston picked home game
2. Toronto picked home game
3. Yankees picked play at Boston
4. Mariners left with play in Toronto

I’ve been bitching about the seeding in the playoffs since the Cards, Cubs, and Pirates finished 1-3 in the NL for best overall record and then two of them had to play each other in a one game elimination.

The AL Wild Card turned out to work record wise but yeah the utter imbalance of the NL is weird. Atlanta is easily the worst team in the playoffs altogether so you know. Milwaukee will just beat them in 4 games or so but still.
