One of the problems with HP, Dell, and Lenovo is the cheapest way to get a real CPU is usually to get a gaming laptop (historically, the "i7" you get in an office laptop isn't a real i7 - you have to pay attention to the suffix). That's how I ended up with my Legion. M1 and AMD being way less shady with their laptop CPU naming conventions might change that?
(nevermind, AMD and Apple are just as shady) https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile...st.2436.0.html The AMD CPU in the Lenovo is a bit better than the M1 in an Air Last edited by nepg; 12-15-2021 at 08:00 PM. |

My 7 year old PC stopped booting up this week after the SSD that my OS was on seemingly stopped working. CPU needs a new heatsink too. Thinking of just throwing it all away, but feels wasteful.
I bought this laptop from Amazon as an emergency replacement and it's being shipped now. RAM seems good for the price https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08XX86B35 |

It's going to be quite a bit heavier than a normal laptop. If you're going to get reimbursed for up to $1500, I'd go out of my way to get a lighter model without the GPU. |

I ended up with a Legion 7, but not the slim variety. My laptop got stolen right before the good AMD CPUs came out so that kinda sucked. Overall its a fairly good laptop but I had issues with my hinge because of a stupid design that they allegedly fixed. The only things I really wish I had are better battery life and the ability to charge with USB-C. I wanted a pretty fully featured laptop with a good GPU, full 10 key, nice screen and plenty of ports, but in hindsight I probably would have gotten one a bit lighter with better battery life. I get maybe up to 4 hours, but I see some of the thinner lighter models get like 8+ and get super jealous. I don't even game that much on this laptop.
People seem to like that one you posted. It also charges on usb-c if you get a 100w charger and aren't too demanding. I think it looks pretty good. https://slickdeals.net/f/15499045-le...9-f-s#comments |

https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPa...11&s=pc&sr=1-3 These seemed like solid builds, but PC is really missing out on a sweet spot here, a nice looking, spec decked out, non-gaming PC, with good battery life around 1k would not be hard to put together
