Where the majority rails against Trump, JJB and towelie extol the virtues of Libertarianism, and occasionally a conservative stops by.

Some places have the number even lower now for Trump. Some have him below 15.

Can someone recap what has happened recently for the collapse? Being away hurts my news in the US.

It's a really long list.

DNC had the parents of a fallen soldier speak at the convention, Trump proceeded to jam his foot down his throat, criticizing them and making it seem like the mom wasn't allowed to speak because she was female. He also kicked a baby out of a rally. There's been significantly more but the Khan thing was recent.

Both conventions, Trump and co came off as the usual retards they are and Clinton and co came off as seeming to know wtf they are doing despite the angry Bernie fans in attendance

I think I heard about the baby thing. Didnt he first say he loves babies and then not even ten minutes later kick it out?

trump is not intellectually inclined but the media literally goes through everything he says with a fine-toothed comb to find vulnerable quotes they can use to portray him either as racist or incompetent. meanwhile, hillary is investigated by the FBI and has her own baggage but she's relatively untouched by the media. this fact alone drives my derision for her. i'm trying to balance the outrage for both candidates.

you'd hope journalists would care a little bit more about important things like all the china-usa tension in the south china sea, corrupt DWS getting hired immediately by the clinton campaign after her resignation, how the government repeatedly treads on the constitution with legislation like the NDAA. but naaa feed the imbeciles with nothing truly pertinent and let's crucify trump for everything he says wrong. keep eating it up and ignore the WHOOSH of the government distracting you.

has the media ever been so blatantly supportive of a candidate before? no one else recognizes the theatre?

when the next recession hits, and it'll be bad, i wonder who hillary will bailout. capitalism my ass, we have so much intervention preventing the free market from operating yet we identify as some bastion of capitalism. if a big bank operated incompetently enough to go bankrupt, maybe they should? that provides more value long term for the economy and society, rather than the government actively participating in corporate welfare and turning a blind eye to reckless business practices. if the cotton gin fails because of market conditions, MAYBE IT SHOULD FAIL. but with the government's logic, if the cotton gin company had 100,000 employees, they're too worthy to let fail. these are our leaders. they portray benevolence when we damnwell know what their intentions are. there's a reason goldman sachs is a top donor for either party's candidate. because of their pandering on camera, we incorrectly think they're so different.

in a free market, profits represent people wanting something and losses represent people not wanting something. this is how economies grow. computers put typewriters out of business. cars put carriage companies out of business. if a foreign company finds a way to make cheaper cars that americans buy and save money with, the american company goes out of business and our economy saves money and value. let us save money by buying those cheaper cars and not protecting inferior american brands that cost us more. if people don't wanna buy a pontiac, let it die. they should've made a better product.

tsa is the 21st century dmv. terribly operated government organization with no incentive to improve since they have no competition. jetblue wouldn't dare grope my daughter. with any business, if you want to increase revenue/funding, you need to improve your business. with any government organization, they do the opposite to gain revenue/funding. see tsa a few months back with their slowdown and cops having a voluntary slowdown. wtf is that, we still pay our taxes but government reserves their right to serve effectively.

this country is collapsing like all the previous empires but because of the shiny things in life, we're blind to learn from their examples.

1. explosion of government size/spending/debt
2. military spending outpacing economic growth
3. cultural/moral decay
4. political apathy allowing leaders to go unchecked

Yeah, it's disgusting. Then, again, Trump is disgusting. The majority of the media is left leaning and comprised of left wingers that are in an echo chamber of idiocy that they then think everyone should agree with. The right wing media is the same thing, just with idiotic right wing stuff. Echo chambers of blathering.

This is a great perspective piece.

I love his conclusion. So true. The behavior seems to be echoed by a lot of people on here, and since I respect you guys, I hope you think about it. That's why I rail about it with you all.

Or as one Reddit comment sadly put it recently, “It seems like people don’t actually want democracy anymore, they want a dictator who agrees with them.”

But this constant state of mild dissatisfaction — this is what freedom actually tastes like. And if people continue to lose their ability to stomach it, then I fear one day it will be gone.

-Nope, it takes like 5 seconds of being near him for this to happen
-Give me a break
-It's election season and this is at this point just a stare-down between countries that is incredibly difficult to cover on a daily basis
-Who cares? DWS did some dumb crap that was quasi corrupt, but she's basically just a small piece of a big campaign for Hillary. Trump's campaign manager has worked for actual dictators many times over.
-The NDAA is bad I'll admit, but some of the stuff Trump and his ilk are pushing are WAY worse than that

You can push your pointless both sides narrative all you want, there is a reason a media member outside of Fox News and the worst analysts around won't touch Trump. He's a complete dickhead, he never admits he's wrong, he's sexist, he's racist, he's old as hell, he's not a very good businessman and he lies more than any person ever.

And cultural/moral decay...seriously towelie? Go blow it out your ass.

all decent points except your defense of DWS. any foreign politician or republican has that luxury with the party committee head, and you're not as dismissive.

Are people really outraged that someone would come back to help a friend who helped them because they were helped to begin with?

If I know and trust someone will help grow the party and help apply your ideologies, why wouldn't I help them move up in their career? Why wouldn't I want them to expand their influence if they'll also be able to assist me with that added reach?

The most thorough report I saw on the DNC emails had DWS annoyed at the Bernie camp for not doing things on time. There was some douchiness there (and the doesn't believe in God email was incredibly fucked) but there was no evidence of the DNC doing anything to help Clinton win the election. Cutting Bernie off from the email list a while back was pretty sketch and there was never any evidence of that, and even in the emails there was nothing about it. DWS got a bullshit job in the Clinton campaign so she could save face while resigning. Trying to turn that into a scandal is dumb.

It's a presidential campaign. The candidate polling #2 constantly says horrible things (that MSNBC has started fact checking literally as he says it). That's going to get the most air time. It absolutely sucks that nothing substantial is being reported on the democrats can basically coast and run on "we're not Trump", but it's also a lot better than the monstrosity that is Trump not being front and center.

You people are going to elect Trump so he can deport me and arrest my gf for being black, aren't you?
