Cap 1 Venture One is pretty good. I get 1.5/2 on basically everything. Also have Amex Blue that I believe gets 1.5 also.

Could have missed something, so would be interested if you found different...

I need to open up some more cards just to have them open. I currently only have an Amazon Prime card that I use for all Amazon purchases and food, and a regular United Mileage Plus card I use for pretty much all other purchases. Also have a random Visa through my credit union and then a Banana Republic one because why the fuck not.

Problem is I don't have too many high dollar purchases or recurring bills to throw on a card, so I only use them for small, everyday purchases that it doesn't make sense to spread around all the time.

On the application you can apply as a sole proprietor - just list your name as the business. If they ask for your annual business revenue, don't lie. I got approved for the Chase business ink preferred listing $0.

Credit score is largely based on how much credit is extended to you vs how much you owe.

626 is pretty good for not being someone who has actively built credit.

I just had to use 30k at a terrible redemption rate for a flight. Sitting at 80k right now.

I debated blowing a bunch of points to get a flight directly to Long Island, but so not worth it.

My lineup is strictly no fee, points driven.

Citi Double Cash
Chase Freedom
Discover IT
Amex Blue Cash

I also have Cap1 Spark Business card as I was (and still am) planning to start something on the side, but right now I have zero time so I haven't used it at all.

Saw an ad for per-paid credit card the other day.

I guess it could be beneficial for those that have trouble spending within a budget or those with shitty credit.

I can't think of other reasons

Southwest is doing a 60k bonus with only a 2k spend min w/in the first three months. That's a free vacation pretty much.

I have no idea how points work. What does 60k get you exactly?

SPG/Marriott Merger, AmEx Bonus Denials, Chase being...chase.

Lots has happened in the world of CCs in the year since this thread has been posted in.

Working on my spend requirement for the Citi TY Premier right now. 60k points very solid for AF being waived year 1. Not sure what I'll go with next, but I'm over 5/24 for Chase and I'm sure to be denied for Amex. May take a sabbatical to get under 5/24.

I'm mad starpoints have been nerfed.
