I really hated the Mario movie. There were some cool easter eggs and some moments I enjoyed but I just hated it. I'm just going to tell myself it was a kids movie not made for me and move on with my life but it really annoyed me while watching.

Its totally a kids movie in the bad sense. I thought it was the best version of what a Mario movie could be from Illumination. I had really low expectations and I had a good enough time.

Apple giving him $200 million to make a 3.5 hour movie about a bunch of rich white dudes murdering a Native American village is a pretty good gambit. Between this and Netflix giving him so much for Irishman, I'm glad he got good out of these streaming services before they crater.

The irony of Disney trying to cancel someone is not lost on me.

It will be interesting to see how he deals with the DC universe. Personally I have no allegiance to either IP. You would think that the Nolan trilogy was their zenith, but the MCU getting so watered down is a beautiful opportunity.

Yeah Disney fucked it when they fired him over conservatives cancelling him over his admittedly trash tweets from back in the day. DC was happy to get him in the door even for just 1 movie.

I have some guarded optimism for DC with him guiding things. For all of Marvel's faults, it seemed like they at least had a general vision and directions. DC was/is all over the fucking place. His influences and emotional character choices seem to work well.
