I'm about halfway through Sea of Tranquility which is sort of sci-fi I guess

See, I was going to say I liked Dark Matter more, but it might be recency bias as I just finished it. Both really good though, and he has a new book coming out in July called Upgrade. Stoked to read that.

You might like Peter Clines vidae, he leans a little more into humor than Crouch but he’s also got some cool sci-fi. I’d start with 14

I'm almost done with the 6th book (out of 8) in The Witcher series. I am really enjoying it and it has kept my interest up as it has transitioned from short stories to a longer narrative.

What set are you reading, I read a book or two after s1 of the show came out but the translations I had weren't great

I think I might have just downloaded it from TPB or something though because I don't seem to have any physical books

It's published by orbit books. I've doing a combo of paper book and audible. Voice actor on audible is pretty good. I follow the book order from this list: https://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-books/

Starts with short stories and then with book #3 it follows a more traditional story line. I believe that S1 of the show came from a combo of books #1 & 2.

started reading the new Cormac McCarthy book, The Passenger, last night

already about 100 pages in and if you liked any of his other books, you'll like this one

Think that will be my next one, finished I Am Legend and it and the movie are both very meh

Has anyone else read it and think the short stories are worth finishing? Read the first few but they also weren't very interesting

I forgot to come back and give an update; don't bother with The Passenger, the ending is very unsatisfactory

Had anyone read The Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cornwall? It has nearly 5 star ratings on Audible (take that for what it's worth, I guess), but is a 13 book series. Want to know if it is worth the investment of time.

I'm a huge fan of Song of Ice & Fire & Kingkiller Cronicles, and was mostly a fan of The Witcher series (right up until the last book).

My fantasy nerd friend likes em, one of those things he brings up that clearly no one cares about, couldn't attest to his taste in books as they are all fantasy
