Yeah, they're 100% OEM haha.

You can buy an official copy and link it to your Microsoft account so it will carry over for most hardware changes. I think the only changes that might not carry over are would be if you change your motherboard.

OEM keys are way cheaper. Also, I would never link an account to my machine.

OEM keys are way cheaper, but if he’s changing his hardware frequently then it might be worth it so he doesn’t have to buy new ones all the time.

And your Windows is bound to a Windows account. That’s just how it works. The difference being with a full, non-OEM key it will let you change hardware and keep the same copy of Windows since it’s linked to your account.
