Aftersun is the Best Picture this year goddamnit! I could go on and on about the academy being dumb fucks but I'm still annoyed that Synecdoche, New York was pretty much ignored completely. I really liked Everything Everywhere All At Once but I mean even I'll admit it's kinda perfect Oscar fodder, shows the academy has a sense of humor and is kind of challenging but not too much. Makes you think just the right amount.

Also, Jamie Lee Curtis was the least memorable part of Everything Everywhere. Kerry Condon got hosed.

I absolutely understand the sentiment. If you said best not favorite, then that is a bad take.

It might be an age/timing thing. I just remember being a little kid and seeing Temple of Doom on TV. Plus being a little kid the heart scene and the bug corridor become very memorable/iconic.

Plus I saw some silly exchange from Shortround and Indy at the Oscars: wait he has more Oscars that Harrison Ford.
