I would have put him on but he was drafted too late to be a bust IMO. He did suck though lol. I only did first-rounders to save time.

Aaron Curry and Brian Bosworth should be on there.

Also, Reggie Bush certainly didn't live up to the hype, but he actually had a decent career.

I’ll rate your team and give my picks later but you’re nuts to include Reggie Bush.

Bradbury doesn't belong, he has been pretty good this year.

Gotta be Ki-Jana Carter or Lawrence Phillips at RB right?

Reggie Bush's problem was that he couldn't finish a season, but he was close to or over 1k yards from scrimmage per season most of his career. And he was pretty pivotal for the Saints in the playoffs in their 2009 Superbowl season.

Bosworth was before my time. I don't see Curry as "freaky" so much as a huge bust. And yeah if you get a decent back at #2 overall, that seems like a huge bust to me.

See above.

Fair point, I haven't closely followed him this season, but there also aren't many athletic centers who disappointed and were first-round picks.

1000 yards from scrimmage is 30 rushing yards and 30 receiving yards per game. From a #2 overall pick, that's terrible. Carter and Phillips were before my time so I'll take your word for it.

There are quite a few bust RBs picked high, I guess you could maybe choose like Ronnie Brown or something, otherwise it gets into the Michel/Maroney/Beanie Wells type of dudes. IDK if missing at #20+ is anything like missing at #2 on a RB though. Trent Richardson is an option but at the same time IDK if he was really a "freak" as much as someone perceived as very safe who busted.

In short, Bush wasn't the worst first-round running back, but the combination of freaky tools, people projecting him to be the next Barry Sanders, and a mediocre career makes him one of the most "freaky" misses IMO.

I also tried to omit (where possible) guys whose careers were derailed by injury, so people like Cadillac Williams didn't make my list, and also guys who were not athletic freaks (so I omitted say, Cedric Benson.)

Trent Richardson had an RAS of 9.62, he absolutely was a freak athlete. Look at any scouting report of him at the time and it's extremely present.

And Bush wasn't an elite game changer exactly, but that's also because the league wasn't really ready for an athlete like him at the time/how to handle him as a RB. He was still a huge part of why the Saints offense turned it around to eventually win a Super Bowl.

The OJ Howard one makes me sad. I was pumped when we got him and he flashed, but dude just couldn't a) catch the ball, b) stay healthy, and c) block, despite that being is apparent strength as a college player.

Yeah, I guess I forgot how good his workout numbers were. They were from the Alabama pro day though, so may be inflated somewhat relative to Combine testing.

Michael Huff. Still will never understand how he didn’t succeed.

Charles Rogers was supposed to be Randy Moss 2.0. I know you said you were trying to avoid guys with injuries, but when he was on the field, he wasn't very good.

Also, less recent corner for consideration - Ahmad Carroll. 4.34 40. Good old "Highway 28"...

Here’s my offensive skill positions, no depth chart yet.

QB: JaMarcus Russell (strongest arm ever, miserable psyche)
QB: Marcus Vick (at least 80% as fast as his brother)
HB: Trung Canidate (4.25 40-yd, had 3 good games as a pro)
HB: Chris Henry (4.40 40-yd, best in class 10’7” vertical, finished his career with 32 carries)
WR: Kevin White (4.35 40-yd, unable to stay healthy)
WR: Charles Rogers (all the tools, body made of glass, head made of shit)
WR: John Ross (4.22 40-yd, knee issues, never had the right QB and first 2 weeks of 2019 though)
WR: Troy Williamson (4.32 40-yd, the WORST hands I’ve ever seen for someone with that speed)
TE: David LaFleur (the Cowboys preferred him to Tony Gonzalez)
TE: Brad Cottam (6’8!!, 16 receptions his whole career)

Rogers problem wasn't his head, and he was looking OK his rookie year despite an awful offense to be in. He just got addicted to painkillers after his two broken collar bones and mentally he couldn't recover. It's mean really to put him in here.

I will always give Rogers a slight pass due to injury...

But are we really going to forget the elephant in the room of overdrafted Lions WR's that was Mike Williams?

Basically ate himself out of the league and tried to make it as a TE with the Seahawks if I remember correctly.

Also I will give an old school Mike Mamula vote. He basically created the term 'workout warrior.'
