after adding cooks and wishing on a star that gallup bounces back and we get something out of tolbert, I’d rather give ferguson and hendershot a chance and look elsewhere in the first. personally.
also, love the trade. wish they could’ve pulled it off at the deadline ![]() |

Depending on the market, the team may still have eyes on Bobby Wagner as well. If they can pull off Hank, Wagner and grab an insurance body at guard, it opens up a ton of options come draft time.

I can’t see it with Wagner. I think it was either/or with him and LVE. How about A’Shaun Robinson? Great run stuffer.

To get him now with only a 5th and future 6th is some real fancy dealing by Jerruh. I'm happy with the value for sure, but a part of me pains because I was really hoping for DaAndre Hopkins. Cooks doesn't have the catch radius that a Dak receiver needs, nor is he someone you can throw to while being covered. D-Hop would've been that. Again, good get with Cooks, but I wonder if this is enough. Getting too cute here instead of being really aggressive and getting a REAL difference maker... me thinks. |

And I really like/prefer Nuk as well, but after getting busted for PED's he's now missing games for the first time in his career. So have to wonder if he's going to fall off a cliff sooner than later. I really like the intersection of talent and value in cooks, personally. |

Shultz signed by Houston. TE going to get a heavy look in the first round.

The Cowboys have restructured Brandin Cooks contract, turning $8m of his $12m base salary into signing bonus. His salary is now $4m. He will count $6m against the cap. He is still making the $18m he was guaranteed in 2023 with Houston paying him $6m.

If so, it better be Darnell Washington.

TE is a tough sell in the 1st round for me. History shows it usually takes a couple of seasons for guys to get rolling at the position. I think with Cook, Gilmore and Pollard being short term (although very good) moves, they need to try and find someone who can contribute right away to maximize their chances to make a playoff run.
IMO, Ferg/Hendershot showed enough last year that we can get away with a vet signing to fill out the roster and still be okay at the position. |

More solid moves today, Chuma Edoga signed as veteran insurance at G/T. Dante Fowler is back to keep the pass rush group pretty fat. Rico Dowdle is coming back and Ronald Jones II added at RB for some added insurance for TP.
I like it, nothing flashy but plugging more holes heading into the draft. Just need to grab a NT (Hankins, Woods, Robinson all still available) and I’d say their likely done unless someone like B-Wagz or Calais Campbell decides they want in on a one year vet deal. |

Just completed the Forum Mock as the GM for ATL. Gave me chance to research and learn about some prospects. So here's a new mock for YOUR DALLAS COWBOYS!!!
R1. TE Darnell Washington, Georgia - I'm really starting to narrow in on him being at the top of my wish list. I normally don't favor TE in the 1st, but it helps that he's like a 6th Offensive Lineman out there. He's nasty at it too. I definitely feel like Ferguson and Hendershot can replace Shultz, but DW could take it to another level. He's a different cat. Big athletic target for Dak that is unlike what we already have and counter the NYG's move of bringing in Waller. ![]() R2. IOL Cody Mauch, N. Dakota St - A standout tackle, who is projected to be an interior OL in the NFL. Even getting looked at at Center. He is a mauler and put on a show at the Senior Bowl. One of the best personalities there, he would be a team favorite in no time and help give our OL an added identity. R3. RB Kenny McIntosh, Georgia - Explosive, with a strong frame. Not a small, frail, shifty type. Great feet for change of direction, good vision and has ability to break tackles, plus he has incredible hands as a receiver. Combining him and Pollard would give us another big time playmaker. ![]() R4. NT Jerrod Clark, Coastal Carolina - A 6'4, 345 NT with long arms and athleticism who carries his weight well for size. This guy could be a real steal. From NFL Draft Network: Clark is an ideal fit for a run-stuffing nose tackle. He aligns as a 0 and 1-technique for his defense. Clark has the build/power combination to control and occupy two gaps. He uses his power and 82-inch wing span to drive blockers backward. He strikes and stacks opponents with good power to collapse and reset the line of scrimmage in the run game. Once engaged, Clark has the ability to walk blockers into the lap of the quarterback. His quickness and burst off the ball allow him to drive through gaps and create interior pressure. Clark is capable of making his impact felt versus gap and zone scheme runs. He understands how to attack these blocking concepts and work his way into the backfield. When he uses proper hand placement and strikes, he reduces his hitting surface to soften his rush path. ![]() R5. WR Rakim Jarrett, Maryland - Injuries will happen and Cook is injury prone. I hope Tolbert is able to step up in year 2, but we will need more reinforcements and this dude Rakim generates A LOT of yards after the catch which is what our new offense will see more off. Perfect fit for us. I drafted him in Round 5 for the Falcons in the forum mock. ![]() R6. QB Jaren Hall, BYU - Another guy I drafted for the Falcons, but I like him for us too. I bet if he played for Bama, Oklahoma, or Clemson, he would have more shine to his name. He makes plays on his feet, but I wouldn't call him a run first QB. He could learn as our 3rd string and develop slowly. Potential is there. ![]() R7. K Jake Moody, Michigan - We need a guy. Let's beat FA and get one of the bests in college. |
