I just did their online “fitting” and my specs came back pretty identical to what I have, and suggests my irons need to be 2 degrees flat, which I also suspected based on videos of my swing.

That online fitting tool is pretty slick. As I've suspected, my standard length/lie clubs are probably too short for me.

I went in 2018 in France on my way to Oktoberfest. It was awesome. It was great seeing rowdy Americans having fun over there. The course was also gorgeous. It's an experience.

Went to my first golf event at the Charles Scwab challenge because my roommate works there so got the whole vip experience. Unlimited food and drinks I could barely keep up with walking with the crowd. 10/10 would do it again.

Steph Curry is going to be on NBC's Ryder Cup coverage. He was super boring on The Match...hopefully he does better with this.

Also: This was more or less my plan, or else sitting near the mound in the rough behind that video board to get a better view of the Par 3 #3 green. Probably move to #17 after the last group passes us on the front to watch as many finish as we can and then the trophy presentation

Yeah, shaft is much more important, to get launch and spin adjusted to your swing style. Most major driver heads are gonna be super forgiving/hot off the face now, so it's really just about how they look.
That being said i love the carbon fiber crown to the TaylorMade woods so that's what i would go with, but the Pings are nice too. |

I currently score in the 101-110 range, still trying to break 100 lol. I do have like 5 birdies though so far. My irons and chipping are my bright spots while Driver, putting and iron distance are my flaws. I’ve been using my 3wood off the tee recently and have better accuracy with it. My clubs are just average so I’m debating on getting a good brand set soon…

They were both stiff shafts, but again I'm using a very old stiff shaft M1 taylor made driver. So I'm eager to upgrade asap, I'll probably get fitted for it from a friend.

I mostly have it since all my friends have pro as well so you get notifications when people start rounds and you can kind of track them as they play |

I never plan to enter tournaments or anything so I doubt I'll ever have a legitimate handicap, but I track unofficially on 18birdies. I never take mulligans and don't do gimmes outside of like a foot and a partner gives it to me, but I break some rules. I play everything as a lateral hazard, because I'm not going to waste people's time hitting provisionals or going back to a teebox for lost balls. Also, until someone starts paying me to use their clubs, I move the ball if there is a tree root, rock, or something that could damage my club or cause injury to me on a shot. I try to be fair about that and put it in a similar or more difficult spot further away, but obviously it's still not legal.

But yeah, i'm not hitting off a tree stump or a rock or whatever. Some people just take their handicaps way more serious. |

I only hit a provisional if I'm like 90% certain the ball is gone, either hazard or I watched it slice OB. I'm not nearly good enough for it to make a difference so as of now if I can't find my ball in the weeds or trees after a few mins, I just drop relative to where I think it went.
Only rare circumstances (toward the end of a shit round) will I foot club from a bad lie to the rough with a clear shot. It's actually fun sometimes to try a new shot to punch out or over a tree. |

Yeah, getting creative with shots actually teaches you more in the long run so don't fluff your lie too much.
I learned i have about a 150-160 yard, low punch cut with my 3H that's fairly easy to hit for whenever i'm in the trees. Really choke up on the club, ball in the middle of your stance, short backswing, short follow through. It keeps the ball low and packs enough distance to really set you up for your next shot. |
