The prequels have been redeemed because the requels were so fucking bad. I tried so hard to like them too. I think they fucked up big time not letting Lord and Miller do their thing with Solo too. Just greedy no talent hack decisions by execs giving us watered down worthless garbage. The Disney/current past two decades Spielberg way. Take no chances, try to appeal to as many people as possible, challenge nobody.

I know guys who work at Bad Robot. The reason the sequels suck is they never had any semblance of an outline for the broader story they were telling and that’s straight from one of them having drinks with one of the writers of Rise of Skywalker.

Also, Lindelof turned in his script for the Star Wars film he was working on and promptly quit. The amount of writers and directors that have started projects for Disney Star Wars only to leave or be fired before completion is STAGGERING, it’s up to at least a dozen at this point in the decade since they acquired it from Lucas. Someone has to investigate as to why this keeps fucking happening. Is it Disney middlemen and beancounters? Is it Kathleen Kennedy? Is it creatives not wanting to deal with Star Wars fans backlash?

Lindelof is too talented to waste time on Disney Star Wars. Sounds like he knew he wasn't going to be able to make something as great as it deserves to be and I'm sure there was a whole lot of exec meddling already. Good for him

This is all because they left it in the hands of Kathleen Kennedy instead of someone like Dave Filoni. Kathleen has a great resume, but she absolutely does not know the product whereas Dave had been running Star Wars for about a decade when Disney got ahold of it, and he knows the product better than anyone else.

The bigger reason is DSW sucked shit like a human centipede chain is they undid the ending of ROTJ and jeopardized everything the hero characters had earned as their resolution. Making it so Luke, Leia, and Han all ultimately became fucking jabronis in service of the new Disney brand characters. Fuck that.

Well, that would have never happened if Filoni was at the head of the table. The rotating directors and letting them do whatever the fuck they wanted with no overarching story outline was incredibly dumb. Just completely botched from every angle.

I enjoyed the premiere of season two of Yellowjackets. Fun show and Christina Ricci is so damn good. Was also cool to see someone from my drama classes in high school play a bit part.

Would recommend Daisy Jones and the Six. Some episodes are kinda boring but the aesthetic is really cool and I enjoyed the stories it told about the band. I'd be in for more
