I think you're being a little naive here. There's a lot of risk analysis that goes into these things. Civil trials aren't criminal, where they use black and white evidence. The burden of proof is significantly lower, and as noticed in the Depp/Heard trial, there can be outside influences that dictate the outcome.

If you have the money (which he does), regardless of your innocence, if there's a chance that you can be painted poorly, and your intentions/innocence can be questioned enough to convince even a few people of wrongdoing it can cost you significantly more. It will always make more sense to pay it to go away, which is why guys like Tony Buzbee exist.

Guilty or innocent you shut up and only talk to your lawyer. A settlement is the easiest way past anything regardless of innocence. Civil court is only 51% to win. Even with the truth you can still end up behind compared to a settlement and an NDA.

Watson should have paid big early and shut up. No lawsuits and just rumors means dumb football fans move past it sooner. Being a public figure who relies on his image makes everything more complicated and difficult.

Yeah, it's often cheaper to settle as well. It doesn't mean someone is or isn't guilty. I just assumed that Browns signing bonus must have settled in his account and was now more open to the idea.

I haven't had 2 good QBs in my whole tenure but did win a championship with Baker Mayfield and Drew Stanton, it is a very fun and rewarding league. Especially for people who follow the NFL draft

I joined because of JBond, and Deep Threat is in it along with some writers but I don't remember who anyone is
