There's a little bit of Curry in him but with way less coordination and incredibly messy/gifted passing. His condition prevented him from being able to use his stamina on defense so he was worthless on D, but all the same. His impact is far greater than his actual level of greatness as a player, so it's probably fine.

I mostly just want Manu on this list. Throw somebody out.

Hell no. If anything I'd advocate for throwing Melo out but he had a good olympics once and got to the conference finals once because of Chauncey Billups, so stuck with the idea of him being a top player forever.

I think they did an admirable job with current players, but AD has never moved the needle for me. He always is just a hall of very good player, but never on the right team with the right health to push him over the edge. And obviously the health concerns are not going the right direction.

Some people are up in arms for Kyrie not making the list... for what? Please tell me for what.

They made it to the finals when Durant was 23, Westbrook was 23, Harden was 22, and Serge was 22. It's not really a case of "they had so much time!" they traded a HOF at 22 years old because they didn't want to pay him. He had a breakout third year and decided they'd rather pay Kendrick Perkins and trade for Kevin Martin/a mid first round pick.

I tend to agree that Pistol would be a lot better statistically if there was a 3p line, especially if he was conditioned growing up and training to look for that shot. He was a fairly natural range shooter at a time when very few were (West, Greer, Barry). He was super flashy and fun, and for his time he took shots at distance that no one else took.

It's hard to take someone from the 70s who never trained for the modern style with modern methods and judge them based purely on their game then, but pure skill wise, Pistol Pete had it all offensively.

At the same time though, its also very stupid that he kept taking 20-30 foot shots at a time when those shots counted the same as a 10 footer. Yes, that means he'd have been better if there was a 3p line then, but if someone who was a ~40% 3p shooter now kept taking 35 footers at ~30% we'd all call him a fucking idiot, even if in the future a 4 point shot is introduced with 25% being the league average.

Pistol Pete spent more time in the gym fucking around with the ball than any other player in history. I can’t find the source now but I recall reading he sometimes spent over 14 hours a day practicing. Get bent if you wanna disregard him as the GOAT ballhandler because he’s from before your time.
