Kenny Atkinson turning that job down is something. Super happy to have him back. It would have hurt to lose 2 of our top assistants. I'm sure he got a little pay bump as a favor.

It's vaguely impossible for Steph to pass LeBron. The numbers just don't add up. Not saying some crazy shit couldn't happen for people to make arguments, but it's not realistic.

Charlotte is SUCH a bad fit for Westbrook that I cannot possibly imagine this. But maybe he just wants another job eventually or to be paid well as a cozy assistant in GS. Can't hurt.

And Kobe being alive wouldn't change things. His mythos existed while he was in the league/as he retired. I do think Steph is better but there's a legend there which rivals MJ, only nowhere near as good as MJ.

I think the ringz argument holds a lot of weight in basketball, which is the only reason I think Steph is closer to Lebron than some people think. The numbers definitely aren’t close but Steph didn’t have to leave his traditionally shit franchise to get his/build a dynasty

Russ to Charlotte buzz isn't about fit, it's about taking on an expiring to dump 47mil in contracts they don't really want.

And the myth of Kobe is greater than the actual player, but I do think his death makes people a lot more uncomfortable picking apart the mythology.

Correct. Utah basically flat out letting him go wild in the 4th quarter of his last game was further point of that when his dead leg ass took fifty fucking shots. He had a rare ability of footwork and general skill along with shittalking that basketball players and fans fucking love. It's hard to get people to realize guys like Durant and Curry are better (which they both are) because they are unbelievably lame a lot of the time.

Also this Warriors/Grizzlies feud is fucking annoying.
