So since my trip to NY and going to a Mets game at Citi Field I am trying to get a lot more into baseball, are there any good fantasy sites / games going on or that people would recommend? Feel like that would be a good way to familiarise myself with the game a bit more.

Thanks, the game I went to was a 1-0 loss to the Nats and the batting was not pretty, but was good to see the pitching went pretty well. I gather the guy I saw (Gee) isn't all that which is a shame, but I do hear good things when I read up on it.

if you like stats baseball has a ton of em, a lot of useless ones though but the advanced stats at

can help you evaluate players better

but I still think defensive metrics are shit if somehow Goldschmidt is the worst in the league :facepalm:

So many many stats... are there a few key ones most people go by? Asking all my newbie questions now before some sort of rep system arrives ha!

WAR, wrc+, FIP,xFIP, SIERA.

rotoworld is very good for fantasy.

BABIP, K%, BB%, ISO as well

these can tell you if a player is lucky or unlucky and generally these stats will always return to their means

using this for fantasy would be like Dee Gordon currently has a BABIP of .434, average is .300 but he is fast so he will leg out more hits than most and has a career BABIP of .342 so you can expect him to regress and would likely be a decent sell high candidate

that's the only thing he has done wrong in the series probably batting .800/.850/2.000
